Inside every EV or energy-storage battery pack, dozens or hundreds of cells have to be connected together and continuously monitored. A CCS handles both. It performs three core jobs:

CCS are produced using three main processes, chosen to match the module design:
Busbars are joined to the cell terminals by welding, riveting, or thermal pressing, and the finished CCS is validated with continuity, insulation, and signal-integrity testing before pack assembly. A capable manufacturer can build CCS up to around 2000×800 mm, compatible with the latest liquid-cooled battery packs.

What is a Cell Contact System (CCS)?
A CCS is an integrated component inside a battery pack that connects individual cells. It combines busbars, voltage and temperature sensing, and an insulating carrier into one module, replacing wire harnesses, and feeds cell data to the BMS.
What does a CCS do in a battery pack?
It electrically connects the cells into the required voltage and capacity, samples each cell's voltage and temperature for the BMS, and does both in one compact, sealed, easy-to-assemble module.
What is the difference between a CCS and a wire harness?
A wire harness uses individual hand-assembled wires; a CCS integrates the busbars and sensing into a single module that is smaller, lighter, better sealed, faster to assemble, and lower cost at volume.
How is a CCS manufactured?
Using injection molding, thermoforming, or direct welding — combining copper/aluminum busbars with an FPC or PCB and an insulating carrier, then connecting to the cell terminals by welding, riveting, or thermal pressing.
How do I choose a CCS supplier?
Look for design-for-manufacturing experience, IATF 16949 certification, an accredited testing lab like CNAS, the ability to match your module, and OEM/ODM flexibility with fast engineering response.
