Are LFP batteries safe?

Yes. Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) is widely regarded as the safest lithium battery chemistry for stationary energy storage. LFP is far more thermally and chemically stable than nickel-based chemistries (NMC/NCA). It has a much higher thermal runaway threshold, does not release oxygen as it breaks down, and is far less prone to catching fire or exploding — even when damaged, overcharged, or overheated.
